20-line haiku

by Nathalia G., 19

Bone drums beat on blood
orange skin, a tapestry
of pomegranates.
Sweet melons, sinking
aching gums into psyche-
delic fuchsia rain.
Cherry cola pop
art with seeds for eyes, biting
into ivory.
Clear speckled lotus
like blown glass, chewing petals
of mint seafoam lace.
Eyes not like the sky
but coral reefs. A depth only
few fish would swim in.
Teal gingko leaves, thread-
ing needle pin flakes of
gold, beloved earrings.
Time is eternal with no spaces;
connections are formed in colors.
