Dear insomnia,
Oh my love,
Why don’t you dare to let me
Get just a wink
Of sleep?
I’ve counted almost
Ten million sheep.

Dear insomnia,
My love,
It’s almost 4 a.m.
It may still be early to me,
But my parents say to go to sleep.
I plop onto my bed,
But sleep won’t conquer me.

Dear insomnia,
My love,
It’s 6:30 a.m.
My books are sliding off my desk.
Oh insomnia my love,
Why do you do this to me?

Dear insomnia,
My love,
It’s 7:30 a.m.
I’ve gotten out of bed.
I sit at this wooden desk.
Why does my teacher have
Five heads?
Insomnia my love,
Has sleep deprivation gone to my head?

Dear insomnia,
My love,
I’ve finally gotten home.
I’m slipping into the comatose state
That has been far overdue.
The party in my mind
Is now just another memory
Left far behind.

Oh my love insomnia,
See you another day.
It’s sad you won’t be here today
To stay and play.
