Should I really know what I want to do with my life?
I’m only 15,
yet when everyone talks about their dreams,
it seems as if I should know.
I should know what I want to study.
I should know where I want to study.
I should know the career I want to pursue.
I should know everything-down to what I’m going to name my 4th child.
So I say I know everything.
I say I want to study engineering.
I say I want to stay close to home.
I say I’m going to become an aerospace engineer.
But I don’t know that.
I don’t know anything!
Maybe I want to study journalism, and do what I love.
Maybe I want to go far, and see the world.
Maybe I want to become a reporter, and be happy.
But maybe I don’t.
I don’t know.
Because I’m only 15!
But maybe I should.
