wax poetic

by Arianna G., 15

because i would say your eyes are like the shallow chlorine i had my first kiss in,
the blue of my favorite notebooks as a child,
the first color that mattered to me,
and the color i want to see before i leave the earth.
you would tell them my eyes are brown.
it turns out your eyes are green anyway.
